Businesses are undergoing a fundamental shift in how they operate, driven by the adoption and deployment of AI. Organisations are facing unprecedented challenges in processing personal data and safeguarding privacy.
Does your business process personal data through AI systems? Do you use profiling or automated decision-making in the context of recruitment and employment? Do you use biometric data? Do you deploy large language models or general-purpose AI models in conjunction with the provision of your services?
This session will guide you through the steps you need to take to ensure that your current practices, products, services, and internal procedures comply with the complex regulatory landscape that has emerged alongside the deployment and use of AI systems.
The session will address the following:
• What current and anticipated updates do you need to review and adopt internally from a privacy and data protection perspective?
• What legal bases for processing personal data do you need to consider in the context of automated decision-making, employment, the deployment of chatbots, training AI models, or the use of AI systems to render services?
• What changes or complementary requirements are mandated by EU regulation for businesses that process personal data through AI systems in order to safeguard privacy?
• Does the AI Act apply to your business? Are you a provider, deployer, importer, or distributor of AI systems, and how are these roles treated in the context of prohibited, high-risk, and other categories of AI systems?
• How is the EU AI Act, which is likely to become applicable in August 2026, likely to shape personal data processing activities, data governance, and security?
• What changes are anticipated with the introduction of the recently announced Digital Omnibus Package?
Join us for a 1.5hour session addressing these issues from an EU legal perspective, with a focus on the requirements under the GDPR and the AI Act. The aim is to equip organisations with sound practices for processing personal data through AI-powered systems and technologies, whilst preserving privacy and trust.
