Join us for an exclusive webinar hosted by The Malta Chamber together with the Water Services Corporation.
Ever since Malta joined the EU, the wastewater treatment in the islands has been regulated by the Urban Waste Water Treatment Directive (UWWTD), which amongst others determines the quality of the treated effluent discharged to sea. On a local level the sewer discharge regulations, specifying what can and cannot be discharged by the trade has been in place since 1993 and the discharge permitting unit within Water Services corporation (DPU-WSC) has been educating ever since. With the latest revision of the UWWTD, the need to introduce the polluter pays principle was recognized and this will be reflected in the upcoming revision of the sewer discharge regulations (SDR).
This information session, in collaboration with Water Services Corporation (WSC), will provide businesses with clear, actionable insights into how these regulations will work, how to avoid any pollution contributions through good management, and methods to maintain environmental standards.
