Malta’s Work Permit Framework: Processes, Obligations & Pathways

This seminar will provide an overview of Malta’s work permit framework, outlining the main routes available to third-country nationals seeking employment in Malta. It will address the Single Permit and EU Blue Card mechanisms, highlighting the key procedural requirements that distinguish them. The session will also cover the general provisions governing Employment Licences issued by Jobsplus, with attention to employer obligations and compliance considerations. The seminar will additionally include an overview of family reunification avenues available to eligible workers.

The event will include a panel discussion featuring the following representatives from Malta’s main regulatory bodies:

Ms Celia Falzon – CEO, Jobsplus
Ms Graziella Cauchi – Head, Employment Licensing Unit (Jobsplus)
Mr Edric Zahra – CEO, Identità

Dr Marthese Portelli, CEO of The Malta Chamber, will also participate in the panel discussion.
