Policy

The main aims of The Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry are to influence the formation of policy at a national and European level towards the development of an enterprise culture, to create favourable economic conditions for its members and to promote the interests of the wider business community.

In order to do this, The Malta Chamber Policy unit prepares well-researched technical papers on various thematic areas which include economic affairs, competition and competitiveness, energy and environment, international trade, taxation, labour and social aspects, research and innovation and sectoral issues raised by its sections and committees. These papers are presented to all relevant stakeholders locally and internationally and further lobbying is carried out to make sure the Chamber’s position is taken into consideration.

The organisation is represented in all the main Maltese social dialogue fora. Through its membership of Business Europe and Eurochambres, it is also well represented in the European social dialogue spectrum.
